Things aren’t looking too good for west coast MC The Game right now. Yesterday a North Carolina appeals court upheld a 2011 ruling which makes the rapper have to pay $5 million in compensatory damages to five Greensboro police officers who according to MyFox8, claim they were libeled and slandered and that their identities were wrongfully used in Game’s DVD “Stop Snitchin’ Stop Lyin”.
The officers apperance on the DVD was caused an October 2005 incident at Four Seasons Mall where a Mall security guard asked them to leave due to disturbance, when they refused he called the cops to arrest Game and his entourage for criminal trespassing, communicating threats, and disorderly conduct.
The officers in question claimed the video was heavily edited” and made it appear “as though Taylor was wrongfully arrested,” the court ruling states.
Game has been ordered to pay each officer $1 million in compensatory damages. The officers also have another suit which claims $10 million in punitive damages. Another trial has been set to see if that number is justified.
