Rapper Juvenile was pulled over in Louisiana Saturday night for going 75 mph in a 65 mph zone. The police officer said the aroma of marijuana could be detected, and when he was asked about the scent, the famous rapper handed over a “small bag of marijuana.” It seems Juvenile and the arresting officer had a nice conversation, although the cop was unaware of Juvenile’s fame.
Besides the weed, Juvenile was also charged with driving on a suspended license. He’s had a myriad of run-ins with the law, and I’m sure certain groups will use this arrest as further “proof” of the evil of marijuana and of rap itself. But it’s really just another example of wasted resources. Could the cop have been doing something more productive than pulling over someone for going 10 mph over the speed limit, then arresting them because he smelled some weed?
Juvenile was released after posting $750 bond. I’m sure a hefty fine is in his future. I guess he better get into the studio asap.
