Police found a loaded gun in Ja Rule’s car when it was stopped for speeding after a concert in July 2007. The rapper plead guilty in December to the attempted weapon possession charges.
On Wednesday, a judge set a date of June 8 for Ja Rule to begin his 2-year sentence.
His lawyer says he’ll spend the time until his sentencing finishing his new album, Renaissance Project, and taking care of tax matters.
