Mobb Deep To Release New EP On Black Friday
Posted by Canrus
On 09:00
Now that the Mobb have a new home, Havoc and Prodigy are already prepping the release of their first official project in over 5 years. A new yet untitled EP featuring 7 to 8 songs will be released on Black Friday, November 25th. Here’s what they tell XXL:
“We have an EP coming on Black Friday. We didn’t come up with a title yet, but we’ll have a title that will mean something. It will be like seven or eight songs. I did like three. We have some produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Alchemist and this kid named Young Free.
That was definitely something we all were considering. We sat down with 50. At the end of the day, us and 50 are still cool. We’re good. But what everybody concluded was that [we] need to go do [our] own thing with no restraints. That was the best decision everybody could have made. The EP is done. It sounds good, seven or eight songs. Some real hip-hop shit, some real substance.”
UPDATE: Title has been revealed — The Black Cocaine EP.

Havoc Hints At Joint Mobb Deep & Nas Album
Posted by Canrus
On 08:33
Following the announcement of the Rock The Bells 2011 lineup where both Mobb Deep and Nas are set to perform, HHDX reached out to Havoc for his comments. Here’s what he says:
“We’re going to be performing the whole Infamous album, which is new for us. It’s going to be a challenge at the same time. We’re really looking forward to that and to seeing what the fans have to say about that.”
But the other big revelation is the possibility of a joint Mobb Deep & Nas album. Oh boy, will that be something.
“We’re gonna do a Mobb Deep and Nas album. It hasn’t begun but we tipped the iceberg a little bit with the ‘Dog Shit.’ I think as we was working, doing songs back and forth with Nas recently, I think it was just a mutual thought, like, ‘Yo, let’s make a fucking album.’ Everybody was like, ‘Yeah, that would be dope. Fuck it, what we waiting for? Let’s do it.’”
