Teairra Mari Arrested for Drunk Driving, Assaulting Police Officer
According to TMZ, the 23-year-old singer, born Teairra Marquisha Thomas, was driving her silver Infiniti on Santa Monica Boulevard in the early hours of Friday morning when she rear ended the car in front of her.
Officers report that Mari showed signs of intoxication and was arrested around 3:30 a.m. During the arrest, she reportedly “became combative, resulting in a minor cut to the hand of one of the arresting officers.” She was charged with DUI and assault of a police officer.
Mari is currently in custody and is being held on $50,000 bail, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
UPDATE: Teairra has been released from police custody as of 1:10 p.m. PST.

Teairra Mari drops her latest cut “U a Freak,” off her DJ Scream-hosted mixtape Now or Never, dropping May 30. “Some guys they like a good girl/ Some guys they like ‘em bad/ But if they want a freak, you got it in the bag,” sings Teairra on the Hollywood Hot Sauce production. “Shawty you a freak!”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Welcome Twins
April 30 is double the pleasure for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. Not only did they welcome twins, but the couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary, too!
Carey, 41, delivered the babies Saturday at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Carey's representative, Cindi Berger, confirmed the births to The Associated Press, saying the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.
And it was just as Cannon predicted. "I'm not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so ... It's probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it," Cannon said Thursday when he guest-hosted The Talk. "We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown."

Video: Teairra Mari Hits the Studio with Rico Love
Rico Love hit the lab last week with Teairra Mari at Miami’s Circle House Studios for a Division 1 recording session. The beat artisan, who is executive producing the former Roc-A-Fella princess’ sophomore album, let the cameras roll as Teairra went in the booth to lay sultry vocals for her new single “That’s All Me” over the instrumental from Puff Daddy and the Family’s “It’s All About the Benjamins.”
Taking a break from belting it out, Mari shared her love for Rico and reminisced on her early days. “When I started recording, I remember I used to take like three days to do one song. I was 11 or 12 though,” she explained. “Now, I’m like, ‘Damn, I can knock out two or three a day.’ So it’s all going good. And with Rico, we really just move fast together.” (R-U)
