2Pac’s Hologram Creator Explains Making; 2Pac’s Mother Reacts To Performance

Posted by Canrus On 06:32

The creator of 2Pac’s Hologram, Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, which sort of resurrected the rapper live on stage at Coachella yesterday has spoken on the idea and cost behind the concept with MTV.

“We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” said Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, the San Diego company that created the hologram. “It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life.”

Nick did not reveal the exact cost but said that a comparable one could cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $400,000 to pull off.

TMZ also spoke to rep of Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur who expressed her happiness with the show. The rep says Dr. Dre asked for prior approval from his mother and as a thank you, made a donation to the rapper’s charity, The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

Rest in Peace, Pac!

This is the 15th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death at age 25. It’s hard to believe that 15 years has elapsed since the death of 2Pac. On Sept. 7 1996, Tupac Shakur was shot several times in Las Vegas after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match. He died in the hospital six days later while being treated for his injuries. He was 25.

Video: Tha Outlawz Confirm They Smoked 2Pac's Ashes In Blunts!

Posted by Canrus On 06:43

 THE OUTLAWZ

Since Tupac Shakur's death there have been all kinds of rumors flying around about what happened to his body. Was he really cremated? And if so where are his ashes?

One crazy rumor was that 'Pac's group Tha Outlawz, smoked his ashes. That rumor was finally confirmed by Young Noble, E.D.I. Mean and Hussein Fatal.

"I think it was the night we had a little memorial for him," Young Noble told VladTV. "We had hit the beach and threw a lot of sh*t [2Pac] liked on the beach. You know some weed, some chicken wings and orange soda, he loved all of that. We were just giving him our own farewell. I don't know which one of us came up with it, but they had his ashes."

'Pac came up with that sh*t," E.D.I. says. "If you listen to 'Black Jesus' he said 'last wishes n*gga smoke my ashes.' So that was a request that he had. Now how serious he was about it... we took the sh*t serious."

Hussein is quick to point out that he wasn't there that night, but confirmed that he heard it did happen.

"We twisted up some of that great granddaddy California Kush and mixed the big homie with it," Noble says. "So he's flowing through our system."

2Pac Covers XXL

Posted by Canrus On 07:09

Pac is on the cover of XXL. On the 15th anniversary of his death, XXL reaches out to the people that knew him best, including his biological father, Bill Garland. Issue on stands August 16th.
“[Tupac] cared for people,” he said. “That was his main thing. He really cared for people. I think that’s why he would get so upset when people tried to question his commitment, his love for Black women or Black men. The East Coast/West Coast, you know, that’s a fabrication. I don’t have to begin to tell you that. So when that was questioned, it bothered him. Because he would give his heart or soul. He was a giving person. He would give anything to people. He would go in a store. [If there was a] Black man who couldn’t afford a $1,500 pair of boots, he would buy ’em for him. Think that Black man would ever forget Tupac? That’s just the way he is. But I don’t think that he did it for that. He did it because he had it, and he didn’t. That’s the way he is.”

The Feds Catch Up with Jimmy Henchmen

Posted by Canrus On 10:05

The Feds finally caught up with Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond earlier today in the middle of Manhattan, only a few blocks from his Czar Entertainment offices. Rosemond will now face federal drug trafficking charges and whatever else the prosecutors may have up their sleeves.

NBC NY reports:

Rosemond, owner of Czar Entertainment, was taken into custody by Drug Enforcement Administration agents who got a tip that he was at the W Hotel in Union Square, law enforcement sources tell NBC New York. He was arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn, and did not enter a plea.

Sources tell NBC New York that Rosemond, who is known as “Jimmy Henchman” and has managed Brandy, Sean Kingston and The Game, fled and was chased by marshals up Park Avenue. He was carrying a fake I.D. and a passport application in a fake name, sources said.

Authorities believed Rosemond, who lived in Brooklyn until he went on the run in recent months, was planning to leave Thursday for the Bahamas.

Jimmy Henchmen Cronies Charged with Murder of Tony Yayo Associate

Posted by Canrus On 10:10

Last month federal prosecutors charged Rodney Johnson, 37 and Brian McCleod, 40 with the 2009 murder of Tony Yayo associate Lowell Fletcher. According to the feds, Johnson and McCleod arranged and carried out the murder of Fletcher as retaliation for the widely publicized assault on Henchmen’s teenage son back in 2007. You may recall that Fletcher basically took the fall for Yayo, who was believed to be the person who actually smacked the kid around.

In other news, something about Dexter Isaac’s now infamous jailhouse confession doesn’t smell right. The Smoking Gun received the same statement from Isaac as AllHipHop, but passed on publishing it for whatever reason. Their analysis of the confession raises a few questions about the validity of the claim, as does this post by Miss Info. In any event, the Feds are investigating Isaac’s claim and are out diligently trying to locate Henchmen, who is still on the lamb, so no doubt we’ll be hearing more about these stories real soon. Jimmy Henchman Associate Admits to Role in Robbery/Shooting of Tupac; Apologizes To Pac & B.I.G.'s Mothers

Posted by Canrus On 08:31

A convicted murderer, long suspected of involvement in the 1994 Quad Studios shooting of Tupac Shakur, has finally admitted to committing the crime, and has accused Game's manager, Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond -- founder of Czar Entertainment -- of masterminding the botched robbery, which left the legendary rapper shot five times.

"I want to apologize to his [Tupac's] family and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Rosemond]," Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop (June 15), on the eve of Tupac's 40th birthday.

In an explosive confession dedicated to his former friend, whom he helped to launch entertainment company Henchmen Entertainment in 1989, Isaac explained that he has "stayed silent in prison for the past 13 years, doing a life sentence like a real soldier should," but that he is "tired of listening to your [Rosemond's] lies."

"In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac Shakur at the Quad Studio," said Isaac, who is currently housed in Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Metropolitan Detention Center. "He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Cynthia Ried. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery."

While Tupac survived the shooting, which took place on November 30, 1994, in Manhattan's Quad Recording Studios, and left him shot twice in the head, the incident directly instigated the deadly East Coast-West Cost rap feud, which resulted in the shooting deaths of both Tupac and his East Coast rival Biggie Smalls.

Isaac's shocking statement goes on to hint at future revelations regarding the fallen rappers, even drawing Bad Boy honcho-turned-entertainment mogul Diddy into the fray, claiming that Rosemond will "flip" on Biggie's former cohort for his involvement in the shootings.

"Now I'm not going to talk about my friend Biggie's death or 2Pac's death, but I would like to give their mothers some closure. It's about time that some one did, and I will do so at a different time," Isaac continued ominously. "Jimmy, you and Puffy like to come off all innocent-like, but as the saying goes: You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. Mr. Rosemond, I ask you: Are you going to flip on Puffy when the feds get you? To save yourself like you have done in the past?"

Rosemond, who manages rapper Game, singer Sean Kingston and Mike Tyson, among others, is currently still on the lam, facing federal cocaine conspiracy charges, and has been accused of being a government informant by the New York Daily News, 50 Cent and others.

Isaac is currently serving life in prison for the robbery and murder of a Brooklyn taxi-cab driver.
